1st International Conference on Landslides Risk Reduction and Resilience
The 1st International Conference on ‘Landslides Risk Reduction and Resilience – 2019’ was held in New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy.
International Conference on Landslides Risk Reduction and Resilience
Objective: To bring together all stakeholders including relevant ministries, organizations, departments, universities, as well as experts to discuss/debate/disseminate practically useful knowledge, experiences, information and innovations for landslides risk reduction and resilience at national and international levels.
The first of its kind conference was organized by National Institute of Disaster management (NIDM).
This international event will develop a road map towards landslide risk reduction and resilience via networking, collaboration and coordination amongst different stakeholders. It would also be highly pertinent to the disaster management in hill States.
Participants: Scientist, technologists, developers, engineer, planners, administrators, policy and decision makers from different states of India as well as other countries.
About National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM)
It is a premier institute for trainings and capacity development in India and the region. It was constituted under an Act of Parliament as National Centre for Disaster Management (NCDM) but in 1995 it gained impetus with its redesignation as National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM).
Under Disaster Management Act 2005, NIDM has been assigned nodal responsibilities for research, capacity building, human resource development (HRD), training, documentation and policy advocacy in field of disaster management. NIDM provides Capacity Building support to various National and State level agencies in field of Disaster Management & Disaster Risk Reduction (DM&DRR).
