138 Monuments identified as Must-See Monuments by ASI
The Union Minister of State (independent charge) of Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel in a written reply at the lower house of the parliament, Lok Sabha on Monday, 9th December 2019 informed that the Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) has identified 138 monuments from across the country as Must-See Monuments and the information thereof is made available on web portal of Archaeological Survey of India as ‘Must See’.
At present, there are 38 world heritage sites in India, out of which 22 cultural sites including buildings/monuments and caves are under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India.
In July 2019, the capital city of Rajasthan, Pink City Jaipur was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
