The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) will launch “ASMITA”, a student tracking system in June 2016. The acronym “ASMITA” stands for All School Monitoring, Individual Tracing Analysis. It will be launched under Shala Asmita Yojana (SAY). The system will be an online database which will carry information of student attendance and enrolment, mid-day meal service, learning outcomes and infrastructural facilities, among other things, on one platform for both private and government schools. The students will be tracked through their Aadhaar numbers and in case those not having unique number will be provided with it.

The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has recently launched the multilingual knowledge portal “Bharatavani ( www.bharatvani.in )” at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The portal has more than 130 dictionaries, glossaries and terminology books in text and PDF formats. It has been launched in 22 Indian languages which will be extended to 100 within a year. Along with the portal, the ministry has also launched the Bharatavani Multi-lingual App which will enable users to search for one language text in another as well as get meanings in different languages. The purpose of the Bharatavani is to foster national integration by emphasizing on multilingual and cross-lingual learning tools and technologies. The portal and app has been developed by Central Institute of Linguistics Mysore. .
